Gifts for the Groom

Just like close friends and family of the bride, it’s going to be a hard task to find gifts for the groom alone. The newly married couple will be receiving plenty of new gifts to solidify their union and merge their homes. However, people like to give them individual gifts as well.

A New Watch:

Chances are, the groom spent a large amount of money on upgrading the bride’s jewelry collection with her engagement ring. So why not help him upgrade his own jewelry collection with a new watch, after all, a man can never have too many.

Engraved Cufflinks:

Most of the times, a tux is accompanied by cheap plastic cufflinks or studs, neither of them befitting a stylish groom. Upgrade the grooms tux by giving him a great pair of cufflinks so that he can properly escort his new bride.

At Home Poker Set:

Not everyone can afford to jet set out to the nearest gambling powerhouses when they feel the need to spend time and gamble with friends. So do the groom a favor and get him an at home poker set so he can get together with friends while still staying close to home with his new bride.

New PJ’s:

Why should the bride be the only one oozing sex appeal on their wedding night?Help the groom look his best with a new pair of pajama’s so that the bride has just as much to feast her eyes upon during the honeymoon.

Grooming Kit:

The groom is a grown man now, help him remember that by giving him a grooming kit so that he can remember to take care of himself. Looking good for the bride should be priority more than just on their wedding day and honeymoon.

Happy Shopping. ENJOY!!!

What to Wear ~ Groom’s & Attendants

On the day of the wedding, the groom and his attendants rent their suit from a formal attire shop to ensure the same style and color of suits. The groom’s suit should complement the bridal gown.

The groom wears a suit with a white shirt and a bow tie or neck tie and a corsage in his jacket lapel. Modern day grooms are choosing to wear colors that will blend in with the rest of the bridal party or the flowers, whether it be their shirt or tie or with an added vest. The colors for the bride’s attendants should be decided before you organize the colors for the male attendants. As with the bride, the groom should stand out from the rest of his attendants. The groom’s outfit can differ from his attendants through the use of a colored vest, tie or shirt.

The groomsmen can complement the bridesmaids by wearing a cummerbund or shirt in the same colour as the bridesmaids gowns. This has a great effect for photographs and when they are in line for official duties. You may choose to have their accessories of similar colour to the groom, but remember that the groom needs to stand out from his attendants.

As with the bride’s attendants, the groomsmen are responsible for the cost of their suit hire and for any other accessories. The groom and his attendants need to go shopping together to tailors or suit rental shops to ensure that everyone is happy with the selection. Arrange to have regular fittings and a final fitting no later than a week before the wedding. The groom and his attendants normally all wear the same color shoes, traditionally black, but not necessarily of the same style. If possible, take the shoes along to the first fitting to see if different shoe styles are suitable.

No matter what the groom and his attendants choose to wear on your wedding day it should give the bridal party a beautiful yet uniformed look .ENJOY!!!

Celebrity Weddings

When they aren’t spending time finding new ways to entertain the masses celebrity’s also have down time. Some use them to relax and spend time with their own families and some use it to fall in love and then of course get married. The most beautiful of celebrity wedding occur in the summer and though the summer is not over yet a few celebrities have kicked of the summer with their beautiful and surprisingly simple and classic weddings

Kicking off the summer weddings was Victoria secrets model Lily Aldridge and Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill on May 12, 2011 in Montecito , CA .The couple exchanged vows at sunset in front of a small group of friends and family at the San Ysidro ranch. Both the bride and groom changed their attire after the ceremony to some much more relaxed attire. After that they shared dinner with their guests in front of the outside fireplace under the summer evening sky. Though this couple is very well-known you will find that they did things very low-key and intimate , a welcome aversion from their day-to-day lives.

The next beautiful summer wedding of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton was one that featured plenty of southern comfort. This couple wed on May 14, 2011 in front of a large group of wedding guests. The Bride and her bridesmaids paired beautiful cowboy boots with their dresses while the groom paired some wrangler jeans with his suit jacket, vest , and tie. Their ceremony took place in a candle-lit barn filled with plenty of country accents like rustic glass , twigs , and honeysuckle. The couple recited vows while standing on a cowhide rug beneath an arch made of antlers. At the conclusion of the vows, they walked back up the aisle to “Happy Trails” and hopped into Lambert’s red ’55 Chevy truck to head to the reception. They were met by the bridal party who took hay rides to the party.

This next simply beautiful summer wedding is that of Tamera Mowry and Adam Housely. This duo married in Napa, CA. on May 15, 2011 , while the bride wore a classic white strapless gown the groom paired his tuxedo with converse’s. During the ceremony the couple paid homage to their parents by presenting them all with long-stemmed roses. After the ceremony was over the happy couple went on to their rustic wine country inspired reception. Their reception featured decorated wooden farm tables , beautiful pale pink and white flowers, and hundreds of candles. Their wedding also featured late night snacks of cupcakes as well as a taco truck when the guests were leaving.

As if the above weddings stressed less is most definitely more when it comes to your wedding. So if your going to draw inspiration from a celebrity wedding please remember that at times extravagance can be spared. ENJOY!!!

All about the Rings

Almost as important as the bride and her dress is of course her groom but the next in line is most likely their rings. These small pieces of jewelry announce your union to the world and will be worn for the rest of your life, so why not make sure they are rings you both love. Usually the initial burden of the perfect ring will fall upon your soon-to-be husband when it comes time to pick out the engagement ring, and with all the styles and price ranges to choose from it can be a difficult but rewarding hunt.

The first trend is one that many grooms ( and their brides) are heavily into, and this is the diamonds and platinum. Most women dream of big beautiful diamonds as little girls but some may or may not receive them so as a soon-to-be husband your guy is hoping to be the one to give you what you’ve always dreamed of. This specific trend is not always the cheapest but it makes for a beautiful conversation piece when you share the lovely news with your friends and family.

If the bride-to-be is more on the glamorous side then this trend is definitely for her. The colored stone adds a bit of style and pizzazz to the traditional engagement ring, the stones can range from pretty pink one’s to one’s that match her favorite color or birthstone. This style allows for more of a personal relationship with the ring (if you can believe that’s even possible).

For a bride that loves a good thrift store or consignment shop this trend is truly for her. These vintage pieces of jewelry give a look of wisdom and historical value and can mean so much more to the bride if in fact her ring is an heirloom. This trend brings back the traditional engagement ring with a modest sized solitaire diamond with a plain gold or white gold band. Though these pieces don’t speak volumes to every bride they are sure to stand the test of time for that special one.

With the earth-friendly society we now live in it is only fitting that there will be eco-friendly rings. If your bride is as eco-friendly as they come or she’s just becoming apart of “team green” then these rings would surely impress her. These rings are made with conflict-free diamonds and recycled gold settings, features that will surely put your bride-to-be at ease when excepting your proposal.

And although the engagement ring process is all about the bride it is only fitting that she show her groom just how much she truly appreciates him.In the past the groom was usually stuck with a plain gold or white gold band that didn’t speak to his individuality, but now men’s wedding rings are made to fit him personally. They can also feature beautiful diamonds or colorful stones, two types of metals ,intricate band designs in place of stones, as well as have eco-friendly features. So remember even though your bride-to-be worries most about rings, keep in mind that it’s a process you both should enjoy ( just make sure your best man remembers where he put your rings on the day of the wedding).
