Getting yourself and the bridal party to and from the wedding venue’s is rather important in the grand scheme of things. Though everybody does it not everyone will do it the exact same way.

Horse and Carriage

A horse-drawn carriage screams romance and is perfect for a fairytale or Victorian themed wedding. However, you must be sure to find alternate transportation for your wedding party if everyone will not fit. I don’t think these come in a stretch version.

Vintage Automobiles

Beautiful vintage cars are always in style and they make for gorgeous photos. A beautiful vintage Rolls-Royce is one that is mostly used for weddings due to its sophisticated and glamorous look and feel.Again, you may have to find alternate  transportation for your bridal party because this vehicle will most likely only fit the bride and groom.

Limos

This is the classic mode of wedding transportation. It’s less of a headache because everyone will surely fit. There are many different variations on a limo from luxury to town car and from stretch sedan’s to stretch SUV’s. The choice of which style of limo depends more on your personal taste and the size of your wedding party.

A Party Bus

This is another option that will assure that your entire party will fit and then some, these buses usually vary in size and can seat up to 45 people depending on the size. Depending on your personal taste and budget you can get anything from the basic party bus to a glam’d up ready to rock bus.

There are many other choices when it comes to choosing how you’ll get back and forth to your wedding, these few selections just scratch the surface of your many options.

 

 

Spring Wedding Color Ideas

A beautiful spring wedding is the ideal setting for many wedding, that’s why it is usually known as “wedding season”, Picking colors for a spring wedding can often be more fun than any other season because your color selections are often fun, funky, and just outright stunning in this weather.

Your colors always set the mood for your wedding and how your guests will feel in the space. The best advice will be to look at as many inspiration boards to decide exactly which group of colors will be best for you and your overall theme. Remember your colors have to fit everything you want for your wedding whether it’s formal, semi-formal, spring chic, or just wedding casual.

Grooms Cakes

Though the main cake at your reception will be the center of everyone’s attention (outside of the bride of course!!! ). The groom can often feel left out with everyone marveling at his new wife’s beauty and the overall decor of the reception venue. However, things don’t have to be this way the bride can choose her own special way to make the groom feel special on their big day.

Groom’s cakes are usually funny reminder’s of exactly who the groom is and how much the bride adores those things or is willing to put up with them. It can also be something that they enjoy together and a reminder of how they first met if this was not already done for an engagement party cake.

For the most part everyone will be enjoying the main cake at your wedding but you want to assure that the flavor you choose compliments that of your main cake and doesn’t clash with it. Who know’s some guests may want to try both and it’d be better if they went down in harmony. The most interesting thing about a grooms cake is its extraordinary design being that they don’t have to stick to the rigid wedding uniform. Choosing this design will very likely be the most fun you will have with your cakes so enjoy every bit of it, especially if it’s going to be a surprise for your groom.

Wedding programs are a wonderful way to help your friends and family follow the ceremony and understand the wedding traditions you’re incorporating, plus they can take theirs home as a keepsake. The key to crafting a good wedding program? Think practically and creatively.

What’s in them?

No matter what design you choose for your wedding programs, consider adding the following elements:

• The full names of the bride and groom, the wedding date, and the city and state where the wedding is taking place
• The order of the wedding ceremony, including the musical selections , the composers, and the performers, as well as readings, the source or author, and the readers
• The name of the officiant
• For both religious and non religious ceremonies , it’s important to keep guests aware by briefly explaining traditions, rituals, and ethic customs
• If you wish to honor deceased loved ones, you can include a memorial on the back page with a photograph, a memory, poem, or quote.

Making Them Your Own

Your wedding program is an opportunity to tell guests a little more about you as a couple and to set the tone for the rest of the event. The easiest way to personalize your programs is to add special touches such as favorite poems, quotes, or photographs. Here are some creative examples:

• Extending an old-world European theme with programs printed on marbled parchment paper rolled into scrolls and tied with a sage-green ribbon and a sprig of eucalyptus.
• Two actors created a Playbill for their programs: a booklet complete with The Players (each attendant’s picture and a short bio), a description of Acts (the ceremony events), and a Producers’ Note (a letter to guests from the bride and groom).
• High school sweethearts reprinted their senior prom picture on vellum and used it to top the program, setting a lighthearted, playful mood.

Making Them

Whether you choose to create a program that’s bound with a wax seal or a single sheet of paper, there are four basic ways to make your wedding day programs.

• Set up an arts-and-crafts station in your home, complete with colorful papers, ribbon, and decorations, and host a bridal party DIY night.
• Create them using template designs from a computer program. With the right program, you can create almost anything .
• Have them crafted by a professional designer.
• Purchase a DIY kit from a company like Paper Source. All you have to do is follow the directions and put the programs together.

Beware!!!! DIY programs can be a time-consuming and expensive process, especially if you get hung up on technical details, so do a test run. Time how long it takes to put together a single program before deciding to make them yourself

Handing Them Out

Because wedding programs can come in unusual shapes, sizes, and colors, they can be presented in various ways. Here are some ideas:

• Fill baskets, tin pails, or antique trays (whatever fits your wedding best) with programs and place them at the entrance to your ceremony site. Guests can grab one as they arrive.
• For an outdoor wedding, put a program on each chair and set something on top of them that again will accentuate your wedding decor so they will not blow away.
• Have your ushers hand guests a program right before they’re seated.

Just like close friends and family of the bride, it’s going to be a hard task to find gifts for the groom alone. The newly married couple will be receiving plenty of new gifts to solidify their union and merge their homes. However, people like to give them individual gifts as well.

A New Watch:

Chances are, the groom spent a large amount of money on upgrading the bride’s jewelry collection with her engagement ring. So why not help him upgrade his own jewelry collection with a new watch, after all, a man can never have too many.

Engraved Cufflinks:

Most of the times, a tux is accompanied by cheap plastic cufflinks or studs, neither of them befitting a stylish groom. Upgrade the grooms tux by giving him a great pair of cufflinks so that he can properly escort his new bride.

At Home Poker Set:

Not everyone can afford to jet set out to the nearest gambling powerhouses when they feel the need to spend time and gamble with friends. So do the groom a favor and get him an at home poker set so he can get together with friends while still staying close to home with his new bride.

New PJ’s:

Why should the bride be the only one oozing sex appeal on their wedding night?Help the groom look his best with a new pair of pajama’s so that the bride has just as much to feast her eyes upon during the honeymoon.

Grooming Kit:

The groom is a grown man now, help him remember that by giving him a grooming kit so that he can remember to take care of himself. Looking good for the bride should be priority more than just on their wedding day and honeymoon.

There’s no better gift then a gift certificate, this way you can assure that the bride gets exactly what she wants and you will know she’s happy with it. You can fund things like a trip to her favorite department store or clothing boutique. Giving certificates to a spa is also a great idea, but with the honeymoon and all of the pre-wedding festivities your bride may want something more than to be pampered.

Personalized Goods:

If the bride is indeed changing her name, she will enjoy getting items that reflect her new initials. Most registries don’t feature items that are personalized so if you do purchase both the bride and groom personalized gifts they will be unique.

If you know where the bride will be jetting off to after the wedding it will be great to get her items that are a necessity for the location. You can even include pointers on must see places while she is away. More than likely she’s been so stressed out about planning her wedding that she hasn’t had much time to plan for the trip afterward.

Winter Wonderland Decor

Winter Wonderland wedding are very common around this time of year in the colder regions of the world. However, properly executing these weddings is not always as easy as it seems. Following a few simple steps will assure that your big day will be all that you hoped for.

What to wear?

Select a pure white gown perhaps with a white faux fur trim. Gold or silver beading would also look nice and reflect the light as you walk down the aisle.If the wedding dress you choose is simple and form-fitting, consider wearing a white, hooded cloak with white faux fur trim and carrying a white fur muff, rather than a bouquet.A gold or silver dress would also look stunning. Wear a gold or silver tiara instead of a headpiece and veil.Rather than black, select a white tuxedo with a gold or silver-colored vest and bow tie.Simple white gowns with gold or silver trim or beading. A straight cloak with white faux fur trim, or ones that are edged in gold or silver trim.Shimmering gold or silver dresses would also provide a lovely contrast to the bride’s pure white dress and is in keeping with this winter wonderland wedding theme.

It’s the decor that sets the proper theme setting when it comes to winter wonderland wedding ideas. Here are some suggestions to transform your reception:

• Get some large, willow branches if possible (if you can’t find these then use regular tree branches). Spray paint all the branches white. Then lightly spray paint some branches with gold glitter paint and some with silver glitter paint. Set the branches in buckets filled with sand or gravel. Cover the outside of the buckets with shimmering gold and silver-colored fabric, gathered up near the rim and secure with a length of white ribbon and a beautiful bow. String small, twinkling lights throughout the branches and place the “trees” throughout the room.
• Make or buy various sizes of white and silver snowflakes. Hang from the ceiling.
• Cover tables in a white tablecloth. Add smaller accent cloths of gold and silver. Another thing you can do is leave the white tablecloth as is and sprinkle some gold and silver confetti around the center of the table.
• For the budget-minded couple, create balloon bouquets of silver, white and gold balloons. Use white curly ribbon to tie the balloons together, leaving streamers of ribbon hanging down. Secure the bouquets to some sort of weight (such as tying it to bricks sprayed white, gold or silver or covered in cloth).

For most of your winter wedding reception centerpieces and decor, stick with a pure white and then add in a few enhancements of silver or gold.

• Buy plain wicker baskets and spray paint some baskets in white, some in gold and some in silver. Tie a large bow to the handle or glue a length of ribbon around the basked and glue a bow on one side. Fill with gold, white and silver Christmas balls. You could follow the same basic idea, except use clear glass bowls instead of baskets, so the balls show through.
• Use a small glass bowl and fill with glass beads or white gel beads. Set a several small votive or pillar candles into the bowl nestled within the beads.
• Use elegant white flowers arranged in a simple white vase. Tie gold and silver ribbons around the neck allowing the streamers to hang down. You may also wish to have the flower tips dipped in a gold and silver dye.
• Place a mirror in the center of the table and arrange 3 wine glasses of different heights on the mirror. Fill with water and float a white flower in each. Sprinkle some glitter over the mirror and arrange some votive candles underneath the glasses.

Winter Wonderland Wedding Favors:

• Purchase white Christmas balls. Using glitter paint, write your names on the balls with your wedding date. Glue a small silver or gold bow to the top. This will make a nice remembrance for your guests to hang on their own Christmas trees each year.
• Take two square pieces of gold or silver colored material and sew together, leaving a small opening at the top. Fill with potpourri and sew opening closed. Add lace, ribbon or other trim to decorate the sachet.
• Cut a circle of white tulle and fill with candies, chocolate kisses, mints or nuts. Gather the tulle up and secure with silver or gold ribbon.
• Tie two beeswax candles together with ribbon. Add a small spray of baby’s breath or a flower slipped under the ribbon.

What would a winter wonderland wedding be without an all white cake?

A Bouquet or Substitute:

• Carry a single white candle with gold and silver ribbon tied around the middle.
• Use a fur muff.
• Carry an all white bouquet with accents of gold and silver bouquet jewelry.
• Carry a single white rose with gold and silver streamers tied to the stem.

Weddings Military Style

Ceremony Location

Many military weddings take place at military chapels or on academy grounds , if you’d like to use another location, run it by your installation. Most military chapels are like other in-demand ceremony sites — you need to reserve them at least a year ahead of time, often by applying in writing to the chaplain’s office. All service academies have more than one chapel; at the Air Force Academy, for example, there are Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish chapels. To marry in a military chapel at a service academy, you must be a graduate or one of the following: a dependent of a graduate; an officer or enlisted person assigned to the academy complex, or his or her dependents; or a faculty or staff member, active or retired, or his or her dependents.There will probably be no charge for the use of the chapel, but a donation to the chapel fund will be expected. Rules for decorating military chapels vary across the country, but all flowers, candelabra, and other decor are arranged by the Chapel Altar Guild and are the same for all weddings. Some chapels and churches do not furnish decorations; the couple plans them themselves.

Choosing An Officiant

If you marry in a military chapel, the chaplain will perform your ceremony, and when you reserve the chapel you’ll arrange a meeting. A few sessions of pre-wedding counseling may also be required. If you’d like your civilian clergy person to co-officiate, talk to both officiants early about the possibility. Chaplains are commissioned officers and are paid by the service they represent; you do not need to pay them a fee.

The Arch Of Sabers

After the ceremony the newlyweds walk through an arch of sabers, which are curved swords with only one edge. Actual swords are used in a Naval wedding. The arch is not mandatory, but it’s definitely a memorable part of a military ceremony. On most bases, at least one chapel or an honor guard usually has sabers available for wedding ceremonies. Another possible source is the local ROTC unit. The arch is usually formed outside of the church or chapel; traditionally, a sword should never be unsheathed inside a religious sanctuary. Only commissioned officers can carry sabers or swords and participate in this ceremony. (The Marine Corps is the exception, with NCO’s also authorized to carry them.) Often the military groomsmen participate, but other officers (guests, perhaps) may be designated to help create the arch. Usually 6-8 officers are included. Officers have been known to detour from tradition, announcing the couple or lowering the final two sabers to block the couple’s way and demand that they kiss! A Marine Corps tradition, often adopted by the Air Force, is for the last saber bearer to “tap” the bride with his saber and say, “Welcome to the Air Force, Ma’am.”

The Reception

Military receptions at academies or bases are often held at officers’ or enlisted clubs on the installation, or you can have a traditional hotel or restaurant reception. Military guests are traditionally shown to their seats in order of rank. You might play  regimental music, including the theme song of the bride’s and/or groom’s branch of service. Decorations could include American flags and/or the standards of your unit(s) in addition to flowers.

The highlight of a military reception comes when the bride and groom cut the cake using a saber , one belonging to the groom if he owns one. The groom presents it to the bride and she cuts a slice of the wedding cake with the groom’s right hand resting over hers.

This idea is great for those having beach inspired weddings. Your guests will write their well wishes on rocks or seashells and you will collect them and keep them is a beautiful vase. You can choose to decorate a special room in your new home together with this timeless item.

This idea , though a great alternative, has seen a great run in many weddings so it’s not so unique anymore. However, it is still a very beautiful alternative to the pen and paper.

A poster board guest book is a great way for your guests to tell you how they feel. Just like the wish rock vase you can choose to frame your poster board and decorate a room in your new home with it.
